The newly formed 3rdXV get a brand new strip sponsored by Angel Wash Laundrettes Portstewart, and the Anchor Bar Complex Portstewart. It has been 13 years since the UUC RFC seen a 3rdXV, and its with great pride that Captain Richard Boyd accepts the new kit from Angel Wash Owner Simon Clarke. Richard would also like to say a special Thanks to Danny Coyles at the Anchor Bar Complex who for several years has the been main sponsor of the 1stXV but has kindly sponsored the back of the shirt. Its the plan of the 3rd xv to be a starting place and stepping stone for UU students to play enjoyable rugby, and indeed develop players as they grow through their university playing careers and follow in the foot steps of some UU Rugby Legends and Exiles. Its all about fun and enjoyment in rugby, a part of the ethos of student rugby.
So Far UUC 3’s are sitting joint top of their league with 3 from 3

UUC 2’s off to a great start with 2 from 2 beating Lisburn 3’s comfortably 54-17, the team saw excellent performances from Dane McGregor, Jonathan Henry as well as Scott Bashford at full back, it is safe to say even at this early stage the strength and depth of the club this year could see the 2ndXV wanting to win the league.

Not a great day at the office for the 1’s as their away game to cooke finished 27-14. The students know simple mistakes, fitness and soft tackles are hurting what is a talented team. However some late signings should now help strengthen and add more depth to the first XV squad as the guys look forward to taking on Clougher Valley at home in the Junior Cup, they know they will have to bring their ‘A’ game if they are to knick a win against a strong team.
