On april 12th last the ulster society of rugby football referees voted for their choice of best hospitality club of the year. Their choice for the award this year was donegals own minor club Tir Chonaill rfc. Its a huge award for the club who have only been in the league 3 seasons now and the club has gone from strength to strength. The award has been won by many a great club in ulster the likes of belfast harlequins and dungannon rfc. Club president Mick Patterson and assistant senior coach Paul Bathgate pictured below recieving the champagne and the award on behalf of the club. Speaking on their great night Patterson and Bathgate said they were wining and dining with all the big knobs of ulster rugby and all the refs spoke admirably of our club and our local area in general. This award could not of been possible if it weren,t for the our sponsors of Careys viking house hotel , bonners bar mullaghduff and duffy,s bar annagry who generously sponsor the post match refreshments year in year out and we are all very greatful for their part in this. Also we have two local clubs to thank also for their help throughout our campaigns and that is naomh muire gaa and keadue rovers soccer club who help us out with their facilities after the matches . Our season finishes up this saturday at home to ymca 2s. Also special mention goes tosenior players Dom gallagher and Mark doherty who were picked on the donegal select team facing an ulster junior team last saturday well done lads.
