ARMAGH gaelic captain Caroline O’Hanlon could be poised for a sensational switch to rugby sevens to pursue the dream of competing for Ireland in the 2016 Rio Olympics.
The Irish Rugby Football Union has identified the multi-talented O’Hanlon, who doubles up as a world-class netballer, as a top target to head-hunt for their women’s sevens Olympic programme.
With a multi-million euro support programme in place, the IRFU has significant financial clout to attract top players from other sports along with the alluring prospect of competing in the Olympics.
