2s hold on for tight victory

Solid defensive performance paves the way for the win

On a miserable day in Ballymoney, Cooke 2nd XV came to Ballymoney, with both teams looking to get up to second in the table. With a constant rain and cold wind making it hard for both teams, it was never going to be a high scoring shootout.

Ballymoney lined up with a strong side, albeit showing a few changes. Kenny McAneaney was rewarded for some strong displays in the 3rd XV, and Adam Smyth made a welcome return to the fray. Jordan McCaw and David McKeeman have both played for the 1st XV recently, and sought to force some turnovers at the breakdown. Out wide, Andrew Young took his place at 10 after a stint up the club, and Dan Henderson and Nigel Nevin continued in the centres after a stand-out partnership last time. Russell Irwin captained again from fullback……. CLICK HERE for the full report!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
