Malone kicked off their All Ireland League campaign in fine style with a comfortable victory over Buccaneers at Gibson Park.

Jacque Benade’s side outscored the Athlone outfit by three tries to one and it was a powerful display from the pack that paved the way for victory.

Buccs should have took an early lead when winger Rory broke through but was stopped by try saving tackle fromMichael Barker.
