Graham Rowntree and Andy Farrell OBE Share Rugby Memoirs at Celebratory Evening, Raising Funds for Rainbows Hospice

On Thursday October 16th, stars and supporters gathered together to celebrate the outstanding career of rugby legend Graham Rowntree, alongside fellow international rugby icon, Andy Farrell OBE. The event, which took place at King Power Stadium in Leicester, hosted by brand agency, Champions (UK) plc, was an unforgettable evening for all in attendance.

Guests were welcomed with a champagne reception and the chance to watch highlights from Graham’s fantastic career, before sitting down to an extravagant three course dinner.

Scottish broadcaster, writer and former international rugby player, also known as the ‘voice of rugby’, Ian Robertson guided guests through an evening of excellent entertainment. Guests lapped up a Q&A session with Graham Rowntree which had the audience captivated as he relayed stories from his exciting and impressive career. England, Tigers and Lions Legend, Graham stacked up 54 caps for his nation spanning multiple World Cups, Grand Slams, and International tours – a particular highlight being named man of the match for England’s 20-15 victory over Australia.

Stand up bingo kept the crowd entertained with the chance to win a stunning Tag Heuer watch, kindly donated by Lumbers Jewellers and presented by Dominic Gomersall. Much loved Antiques Road Trip presenter Charlie Ross then hosted an auction with an array of extraordinary prizes, donated by various companies and individuals, up for grabs. Prizes included a collection of ten incredible pieces of Ian Robertson Memorabilia. These are just two of a number of events that took place during the night to help raise vital funds for the chosen charity; Rainbows Hospice for Children and Young People.

To end the remarkable sporting evening, former English professional and dual-code international rugby player, Andy Farrell OBE, took to the stage to delight guests with stories and memories of his momentous career including 34 appearances for Great Britain and also representing England in two World Cups.
