Coleraine Rugby look forward to the new season

Coleraine Rugby Club is looking forward to the new season with real optimism and enthusiasm as pre-season training gets under way.

Richard Boyd has taken over the reigns as Head Coach at Coleraine after a successful five year spell at Rainey Old Boys. He will be assisted by Stephen Douglas, David Andrews and Gareth Bell who make up an exciting new coaching and management team.
Coleraine Rugby Club, with the continuing support of sponsors ‘Cookstown’, has some of the best facilities in the province and with better links with the local schools and an injection of some new blood over the summer, the team is expecting to compete and improve on their current position.
Richard said: “Coleraine have made a number of key signings from local clubs and schools to ensure that we will be very competitive at First XV level and we are working hard to rebuild and transform all the senior sides at the club.”

Pre-season training begins at the club on Tuesday, 21 July, and Richard is looking for a good turn-out of old and new players.
He said: “There will be training on Tuesday and Thursday evenings throughout the summer from 7.00pm sharp until 8.45pm. All players past, present and new are very welcome to come down and see what the buzz is all about.
“There are also opportunities for volunteers to get involved with a range of different projects and areas within the club this season. Please do not hesitate in contacting the Rugby Chairman Cathal Carr if you would be interested in getting involved.
“With a collective effort from players, coaches, officials and volunteers we should see the club move forward successfully in what promises to be a really exciting season for everyone involved.”
