Fourths get cup campaign off and running

Ballmoney’s 4th XV got their McCambley Cup campaign off to a winning start with a comfortable victory over Ballynahinch.
The first half saw both teams play some open, entertaining rugby. The Ballymoney backs were keen to spread the ball wide and challenge their opponents defence line. The Ballymoney centre partnership of James Celland and Benjy Van der Byl proving a real handful for the Ballynahinch defence.

The opening score of came after a number of good phases of play between the Ballymoney forwards and backs. A rolling maul deep inside the Ballynahinch 22 metre line saw the Ballymoney pack drive over the Hinch try line, team captain John Waide securing the opening points.
